You have probably heard the word "funnel" before. But what does it actually mean for a Pakistani business?
A marketing funnel is simply the journey a customer takes from first hearing about your business to finally buying from you. It is called a funnel because a large number of people enter at the top, and a smaller number make it to the bottom and become actual customers.
The 3 stages of a marketing funnel:
Top of funnel — Awareness
This is where people first discover your brand. They might find you through a Google search, a social media post, or a friend's recommendation. At this stage, they are not ready to buy. They are just looking around.
Your job here is to provide useful content — blog posts, social media updates, videos — that answers their questions.
Middle of funnel — Consideration
Now the person knows you exist. They are comparing you with your competitors. They might read your reviews, check your portfolio, or visit your pricing page.
At this stage, you need to build trust. Case studies, testimonials, and detailed service pages work well here.
Bottom of funnel — Decision
This is where the customer decides to buy. A strong call to action, a clear contact form, or a free consultation offer can push them over the line.
Most Pakistani businesses only think about the bottom of the funnel — they want sales immediately. But without building awareness and trust first, very few people ever reach the decision stage.
Understanding your funnel helps you spend your marketing budget in the right places and stop wondering why your ads are not converting.
